My name is Allison Tennyson Ibrahim and I’m from Kuwait via the United States of America and with a keen interest in advancing the voices of people living with NCDs. I introduce myself as a patient advocate, but more importantly as a person living with a multiple morbidities with the complications of having overweight with obesity, diabetes, arthritis, anxiety and alopecia.
In 2009, after only one elevated blood glucose test result, I was fortunate to have met an exceptional Diabetologist and Endocrinologist from Kuwait who I attribute to having saved my life. Subsequently, living with multi-morbidities, having a family, career and life – it has been a challenging and an empowering journey of which I am motivated to and appreciate being able to share my voice through the Our Views, Our Voices initiative of the NCD Alliance during my podcast presentation.
