The Advocacy Agenda of People Living with NCDs is a powerful tool, uniting the voices of people living with NCDs from 76 countries in calling for action on NCDs.

Drawing from the experience of building the Advocacy Agenda, a number of national NCD alliances have mobilised people living with a range of NCDs in their countries and convened meetings aimed at developing their own national Advocacy Agendas of People Living with NCDs.

Between 2018-2020, advocacy agendas of people living with NCDs were developed by Kenya, Ghana, India and Mexico. While the process of building the national advocacy agendas has varied across countries, national NCD alliances have all adopted a common approach of understanding the needs, challenges and priorities of people living with NCDs within their local contexts and leveraging the resulting national advocacy agendas of people living with NCDs for advocacy, community mobilisation and media engagement activities.

To date, much progress has been made in developing and leveraging national Advocacy Agendas of People Living with NCDs. It is important to establish national advocacy agendas of people living with NCDs, because global targets for the NCD response can only be met and controlled if national governments take actions towards these targets and people living with NCDs are at the centre of national NCD responses.
